The company, owned by Metropolitan Equity Partners (MEP), owns and operates the bankcrupted German Pellets GmbH pellet production plant in Wismar. The company has according to a story reported by the radio channel NDR regained customers and suppliers. The wood supply is also working smoothly. The wood used come mainly from the Baltic States. CEO Michael Hessing told that production is around 400 tons pellets per day. After the reparation of the heating plant in November production should further increase. MEP is said to have invested 2 million euros until the end of the year.

Leibold is banned in Wismar because he has tried to find customers for his new venture US Wood Service GmbH from the customer base of Wismar Pellets. Leibold founded his new company in April according to a report by the Ostsee-Zeitung. The location of the company is, according to the article Wismar where Leibold already should look for employees. The US Wood Service GmbH is however listed at the Register Court in Leipzig under number HRB 32387th
It is believed that that Leibold will focus on the import of pellets from the US.
