Tennessee, US-based Astec Industries has received a $122.5 million (€108.3m) order to supply equipment for a Highland Pellets pellet plant, along with a related deposit on the order. Astec previously announced receipt of the initial $30 million order on August 20, 2015.

The company plans to build and deliver the equipment in the additional order during 2016 and will discuss the details of the entire order on its first quarter earnings release conference call.

Astec Inc. is a manufacturer of specialized equipment for asphalt road building, aggregate processing, oil, gas and water well drilling, and wood processing. They have a modular design concept with replicated parallel pellet production lines results in there being very few points in the process where any equipment failure can shut the entire plant down.

The pellet project in Pine Bluff Arkansas was first announced in 2014 and the first order for Astec Industries was announced in September 2015. In January local press reported dirt work to have restarted on the site. Highland Pellets is headquartered in Boston USA.
