In the region of Aragon in northern Spain, in the small municipality of Bea in the province of Teruel a new pellet plant is about to start its test production. It is the company Pellets Teruel SL that invests and will run the plant with a capacity of 24 000 t/y. The manager of Teruel Pellets SL, Eduardo López said that by the end of January the installations will be finished and in March production is expected to start.”
“We start with a workforce of 6 now in March and by June we expect to have a workforce of 12 people “. “We will have the capacity of 24,000 tons per year but the first year production will reach 10,000 tons”, he told.
Pellets Teruel manager also highlighted the employment impact. In the plant there will be 12 direct jobs and indirect in timber companies with forestry crews it can reach fifty, he says.
The investment is reported to be 3,5 million Euro.
