business.conbio.info/2016-08-17/ The price of wood pellets remains also in August on the stable low summer level. According to the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association e.V. (DEPV) pellets in Germany cost on average 222.54 EUR per tonne. This is 0.1 percent less than last month and 4 percent less than in August 2015.
One kilogram of pellets costs 22.25 €c/kWh of heat from pellets 4.45 cents. The price advantage to natural gas is about 30 percent to 8 percent fuel oil.
“The market is as usual very stable in the summer ,” comments Martin Bentele, Managing Director of DEPV.
The pellet price for 6 ton in Germany is lowest in central Germany and highest in the north.
- Central Germany, the price of pellets is 220.40 €/ t
- In southern Germany, the price is 222.02 €/ t.
- In northern and eastern Germany the price is 228.77 €/ t.
- Larger quantities (26 t) were traded in August 2016 following conditions: center and north / east: 205.97 €/ t, South: 209.12 € / t (. All incl.).

The DEPV Price Index is published on a monthly basis since the beginning of 2011. It refers to the average price in Germany for a ton of pellets of the quality category ENplus A1 , for 6 t bulk, delivery within 50 km incl. all utilities and tax.
