As a specialist in biomass boilers and heating plants in the output range up to 13,000 kW, Mawera Holzfeuerungsanlagen GmbH is a leading supplier of complete systems in this sector. The company, based in Hard in Vorarlberg, Austria, has been part of the Viessmann Group since 2006. Mawera prioritises the design and implementation of biomass systems for industrial, commercial and urban customers. Innovative developments have been rewarded several times with the Innovation Award from the state of Vorarlberg and the Bavarian State Prize. With exports accounting for around 85 % of turnover, the company has an international focus, with more than 4000 systems in operation in Europe alone. Mawera was founded in 1975. The company currently employs around 190 staff at its centres in Hard and Meiningen.
Application areas for Mawera combustion systems are the generation of high and low pressure hot water and steam, or process heat via thermal oil (CHP systems). Even boiler room container systems are available as part of the Mawera product range. Mawera offers double grate underfeed combustion, flat moving grate combustion, direct firing systems and special combustion systems – all also available as low NOx versions to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.
The type of fuel and other customer-specific requirements determine the type of combustion system to be used.
