Global Green Synergy (GGS) is one of the leading solution providers for the treatment and processing of oil palm biomass to produce value-added biomass products.
Global Green Synergy (GGS) is one of the leading solution providers for the treatment and processing of oil palm biomass to produce value-added biomass products. From its humble beginnings as a oil palm Dried Long Fiber (DLF) trading firm, GGS has ventured into development of oil palm biomass treatment and processing technologies to produce Dried Long Fiber, Briquettes and Pellets, Compost, and Palm Kernel Shell Charcoal.

As the oil palm biomass industry is booming, GGS has invested a great amount of effort and time into research and development projects with industry players, technology experts, research institutes and universities around the world to develop effective solutions for the oil palm biomass industry.

A few highlights from our portfolio:

GGS went into a joint-venture project with Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB) in 2009 and established the Palm Bio-Briquette R&D Plant. In this joint-venture, GGS has not only gained strong industry recognition but also garnered respect for having the initiatives and putting in efforts to further expand the potential of oil palm biomass industry.

GGS, in 2010, had the pleasure to invite the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd. Najib bin Abdul Razak to witness the signing of Memorandum of Understanding for the setting up of Palm Bio-Coke Pilot Project between Japanese & Malaysian companies. Nippon Steel Engineering Co. Ltd., Sumitomo Corporation, Global Green Synergy Sdn. Bhd. and Ngan & Ngan Holdings Sdn. Bhd. have teamed up to set up a pilot plant to utilize EFB as a raw material to produce biomass coke, a substitute of coal coke in the steel manufacturing industry. The Bio-Coke Project agreement has been signed on the 15th November 2011 in the MPOB International Palm Oil Conference (PIPOC 2011).

Bioenergy products

GGS Dried Long Fiber (DLF) is dried, long palm fiber produced using proprietary technology of Global Green Synergy Sdn Bhd.
DLF is produced from oil palm's vascular bundles in the Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB). EFB is considered as waste products after the Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) have been processed. Palm fiber itself is 100% natural, non-hazardous, biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

GGS Briquette is palm bio-briquette produced by Global Green Synergy Sdn Bhd.
Palm bio-briquette is made from EFB as a replacement or complement to fossil fuels, such as coal. With the increasing severity of global warming, alternative green fuel is fast becoming the solution to this. GGS Briquette is a source of renewable energy that can ensure net zero carbon emissions, minimizing the damages done to the environment.

GGS Pellet is the palm pellet produced by Global Green Synergy Sdn Bhd.

GGS Pellet is the palm pellet produced by Global Green Synergy Sdn Bhd.

GGS Pellet is the palm pellet produced by Global Green Synergy Sdn Bhd.
Its combustion characteristics and material is similar to palm bio-briquette.

GGS Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) is the crushed kernel shells of palm fruit.
In the crude palm oil process, the fruit flesh is softened through a steam treatment. The residual nuts are further crushed mechanically to extract the seeds or kernels. PKS is a natural high grade solid biofuel. It has high energy density.

GGS Bio-Organic Fertilizer is palm biomass derived compost/fertilizer produced by Global Green Synergy Sdn Bhd.
The bio-organic fertilizer is a dark brown, earth-like substance that contains balanced macro & micro nutrients, which makes it highly suitable for plantation and agricultural application. This substance uses purely organic feedstock, namely Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB), sludge and Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME). Therefore, composting is also an effective solution to the biomass handling problem plaguing palm oil mills.

As part of its agreement with China Light (GuangZhou) Import and Export Corp., Global Green will supply 5,000 tonnes of pellets a month to the company. This figure is expected to rise to 20,000 tonnes during the first quarter of 2014.
