The cold spring has helped to keep the pellet price stable report Foex in their Nordic Pix Pellets price index for May 18. The Euro has strengthened by 0.7% against the Swedish Crown from March to April. This ment an upward pressure on the SEK value and the opposite to the Euro value. The new plant in Latvia the 160 000 t/y Neija Energia´s Broken plant has been producing pellets since late 2016. The Graanul Invest Belgian Langerloo power plant has filed for bankruptcy and therefore an expected demand will be removed from the market. In general the activity on the market is high and an increasing Japanese demand attracts American pellet producers.
The PIX indexes are trademark registered, worldwide, by FOEX Indexes Ltd. Using the PIX indexes commercially is subject to approval by FOEX Indexes Ltd, the owner of the PIX index trademark.
Next PIX will be released on TUESDAY June 20, 2017 at 12 noon Helsinki time.

Cold keeps Nordic pellets price stable
